When you refund an athlete, their registration is closed out but the record is kept so the money trail survives.

The club can then register that athlete again - for example at a different level, or after a change of plan - and they pay again. Before this behaviour existed, a refunded gymnast was blocked from re-registering, which caused a lot of support calls.

A partial refund counts the same way. If you refund part of an entry, the athlete is treated as not registered and may be entered again.
